In vehicles of the above-mentioned brands, it has long been standard practice for the factory radios to supply the roof aerial with power via the aerial cable only. This means that no separate cable is used to supply power to the antenna's integrated amplifier. If you now replace the factory radio with a retrofit device, you are faced with the problem that the radio reception is significantly worse, as the amplifier in the antenna is no longer supplied with power and does not work.

With these so-called phantom adapters, it is now possible to continue using the antenna's built-in amplifier even with retrofit devices. The antenna signal and power are recombined in the adapter and routed to the antenna, which now functions correctly as before. Connect the blue cable to a Zündplus source, the automatic antenna connection of the car radio is best suited.
